Covers done right, innit

I’m currently lovin’ a bit of London Grammar, particularly their version of Kavinsky’s Nightcall. The French electro song was originally released in 2010,  produced with Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo. The track was famously used in the title sequence for the film Drive and is a great tune in its original version. But, along with an astonishing video, London Grammar have really added something special to the song – a new depth and meaning almost. What do you reckon?

Although they have many of their own songs of course, London Grammar are no stranger to covers; treating us to this version of Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball at Live Lounge last year. Yes, ok so everyone did a version of this but hey, this one was good!

And speaking of good covers from Live Lounge, this one certainly deserves a mention. I’ll leave you with Arctic Monkeys’ version of Drake’s Hold On, We’re Going Home. Alex, how do you do it?
