Amongst other things Pixies are back, Bon Ivor and Kanye West feature on a track together and Nadia Rose has produced an amazing video –
As the world feels like it’s falling down around us, here’s some new summer tracks to help keep your head above water. This includes of the best acts we saw at SXSW this year, Sofi Tukker. The video for Drinkee has arrived –
Jamie XX has dropped his video for Gosh. This is pretty cinematic I think t’s fair to say!
And Mabel has been catchy little fucker. Peace to you all, whether you are a ‘Remain’ voter or ‘Leave’ voter, regardless of colour or creed, race or religion, we love ya here at Raised by Wolves.
Thank you for this Portishead, this sounds like how we feel right now.
We’ve been a little quiet as of late, only because there’s been lots going on. Pleased to say that our clients are seeing support from the likes of The Fader, The 405, Wonderland Magazine and BBC Radio. Check out a sample of the roster at the moment with Fifi Rong, Ella On The Run and Young Native –
So ends Raised by Wolves’ first time at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. We thought that we knew what to expect but we were wrong. In short, SXSW is crazy. Well, to be exact, crazy fun. Over the few days, we saw Ezra Furman, Hinds, the Parrots, Wall, the Mystery Lights, Dilly Dally, Sofi Tukker, Gilligan Moss, the Heavy, Skyes, Honne, Mitski, Miya Folick and Har Mar Superstar. See below for some photos and the likes.
(Right) Stormzy – AM Only, Rainey St.
We caught Stormzy at the AM Only showcase on Thursday and hung out a little afterwards.

– Check out their track ‘Drinkee’ here.
Thursday evening saw a visit to Cheer Up Charlie’s to catch La Luz and Dilly Dally (see below) amongst others. On the way we stopped into the Main II and caught an artist called Miya Folick at the Buzzbands L.A. showcase. Her voice is amazing, check her out.
Panache put on an amazing day on Friday…
…highlights of the line-up at Hotel Vegas included Ezra Furman, the Parrots, the Mystery Lights and Wall. Hotel Vegas was followed by the Stereogum x Exploding in Sound evening at the Hole in the Wall for more amazing acts – including a pretty mesmerising performance by Mitski. Remember this track?
Then the night was wrapped up in some random college dorm, with a secret gig of Hinds.
Saturday started out at Stubb’s and got fairly drunken from there on. Bands seen along the way were the Heavy, Honne, Skyes and, possibly the best person to end a festival like SXSW on, Har Mar Superstar – complete with an appearance from Lizzo. Thank you Austin, you were awesome.
Favourite Gig – Hinds or Har Mar Superstar
Favourite Venue – Cheer Up Charlie’s
Favourite Line-up – Panache Booking @ Hotel Vegas
Well, we’re well and truly into 2016 now and things are looking pretty good music-wise. Check out Teleman in particular, love their track!
Do we care that Charli XCX is back? I’m not sure, she doesn’t fit into any neat box but, then again, I think that’s admirable for a pop artist. Also she just set up her own label Vroom Vroom, she’s in the driving seat of her own career and I straight up respect that. Her new track is also entitled Vroom Vroom and is produced with Sophie from PC Music.
On a different, there’s also some solid rock tracks out from Parquet Courts and Eagulls, check them out –
Last night saw this year’s BRIT Awards and, although a fine show all round, the highlight was the David Bowie tribute. This was the tribute that the man truly serves, and kudos to Lorde. He really was something else –
Here’s some of the best new music around in my opinion, including Brit Critic Choice Jack Garratt’s new ‘Surprise Yourself’ that just premiered with the Independent in the past few hours.
This is truly heartbreaking. The wonderfully promising UK indie band Viola Beach and their manager Craig Terry tragically lost their lives in Sweden this weekend. They were a band that I was genuinely excited about and looked to as an inspiration for some of our own acts. We are actively supporting a campaign to get their single ‘Swings & Waterslides’ to number one. If you wish you can too by following the links below.
This devastating loss has been felt throughout the industry. Kris, River, Tomas, Jack, Craig and the music that they made will not be forgotten.
